This variety of celery forms an edible bulb. Quite a rare variety. Also called celery root. A hardy plant once it gets going. Harvested at about 10-14cm diameter and can be roasted, stewed, blanched, mashed and even made into chips. Tastes similar to celery.A fresh celeriac should not have a hollow centre.

Also known as Giant Pascal celery, Golden self blanching celery or Winter King. This is a large celery that start out bright light green and turn a little bit golden as it grows. An early producing heirloom with stringless stalks. If you do not harvest the whole plant but begin with the outer stalks it will sprout new ones making the plant provide longer.

Now here's something unique. The stalks are bi-coloured and striped with pink, maroonish red, white and green. Intensity of colour can vary according to growing conditions. Full of flavour and slow bolting. 85-100 days to maturity under good care. A really interesting find.

A variety of celery with parsley like leaves and a very strong flavour. Used like parsley is used but with the flavour of celery, some say it is too strong to be eaten raw but is definitely worth putting into cooked food. Often confused with the bulbing variety of celery called celeriac, this one does not form a bulb, but if you want the bulbing variety look for 'Celeriac Rowena' above.
