Snap Peas:  Also called Sugar Snap Peas. These varieties of peas have round pods that are edible. They are picked young whilst the peas inside the pod have not swelled to full size (i.e. The peas in the pod are still immature). The entire pea is eaten pod and all.
Snow Peas:  These varieties of peas have flat pods that are edible. They are picked young before the peas inside have grown to the size of BB pellets (the little pellets used in a BB gun), and the pods have reached their full length but are still flat.
