The onion makes new onion bulbs at the top of the stalk and as the stalks dry out they fall over and the new little onions grow into another new set a short distance away where they have landed, hence the 'walking' part.The seed you will receive is not seed as you would think of it, but rather tiny little onion bulbs called sets. Just plant then in the ground and a whole new plant will grow.

A 'short day' variety. An American variety that presents with a reddish to pinkish skin on the white fleshed rings. The outside of the onion is also red. You won't go wrong with this one. 110 days to maturity from transplant, 175 from seed, under good care, which is a very good turnaround time if you consider the size that these onions can grow. If you do not want them too large then space closer together. The secret is in the spacing.
